Background
The
expert meetings are organised by Ecologic on behalf of the German
Federal Environmental Agency in the framework of a research and
development project.
The
project is subdivided into two parts:
- A study is compiled which records the
best available techniques of selected waste treatment facilities
relevant for Germany. The results of the study are incorporated
into the formulation of the European BAT Reference document "waste
treatment industries" as the German position.
- Additionally, Ecologic supports the
German Environmental Agency (Umweltbundesamt) in the Sevilla process
which is a process of national and European information exchange.
Activities include the communication and information exchange
with German experts, the preparation and organisation of expert
meetings, and establishing the German position and its insertion
into the European process. Ecologic will also present the German
position at a meeting of the Technical Working Group in Sevilla
in spring 2004.
Duration
of the project: February 2003 to July 2003
