Language
The official language of the conference will be English.
Weather
The weather in late June is generally warm and dry. During the day
the temperature ranges from 25 to 30 °C. Nevertheless, a light
raincoat is advisable.
Travel
Budapest can easily be reached by air or train from all major European
cities. An Airport Minibus service is available from the airport
to each hotel. The cost for one fare is 2100 HUF (approx. 8.5 EUR),
the return ticket is 3600 HUF (approx. 14.6 EUR). Calling the service
24 hours before departure will allow passenger be picked up at any
time or place. Railway Stations are connected with public transport.
Tickets must be purchased at metro stations and validated by the
passengers at the punching machines before boarding. Taxi service
is easily available in the city. If you need a cab, call TELE5 (Phone:
3-555-555), Fo-taxi (2-222-222) or Buda taxi (Phone: 2-333-333).
Electricity
supply
In Hungary electricity is supplied at 220V, 50Hz. The outlet and
plug are the same as in most European countries.
Insurance
Participants should arrange health, travel and car insurance prior
to departure. The organisers do not assume responsibility for loss,
injury or damage to persons or belongings regardless of cause.
Banking
and postal facilities
Banks are generally open from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and
are closed on Saturday and Sunday. There are plenty of ATM machines
(except for Amex).
Post offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
