Climate Talk was founded in 2004 by Ecologic
Institute and the law firm Baker & McKenzie. Its conception
and organisation were first handled by Dr. Camilla Bausch (Ecologic
Institute), Hannes Schloemann, and Dr. Peter Ebsen (Baker&McKenzie).
However, when Hannes Schloemann and Peter Ebsen moved to Switzerland
and England, respectively, to pursue further career opportunities,
Climate Talk had the pleasure of engaging Dr. Hans-Joachim Ziesing
of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) as their successor
in the organisation team. After Dr. Ziesing left the DIW and the
Climate Talk's organising team on his 65th Birthday, the circle
of directors profited greatly from the addition of Priv. Doz. Dr.
Lutz Mez of the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU). In 2007,
Camilla Bausch spent a year in the US, during which time Climate
Talk was put on hold. After her return, Climate Talk took a stronger
international focus than before. From then on, Camilla Bausch led
Climate Talk together with her colleague Benjamin Görlach and
the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (German Institute for International
and Security Affairs - SWP), represented by Dr. Susanne Dröge.
Gesa Homann (Ecologic Institute) also collaborates on the work done
within Climate Talk.
